The dodge challenger 1969 was a muscle car produced by the Dodge division of Chrysler. It was introduced in fall 1968 for the 1969 model year, replacing the previous Dodge Coronet. The Challenger was available in multiple versions, including the high performance R/T.
The R/T (Road/Track) version of the Challenger was launched in 1969 and was available with either a 375 hp (280 kW) 383 cu in (6,270 cc) or 440 cu in (7,206 cc) engine. The R/T package included many cosmetic changes such as a rear spoiler, Rallye stripes on the hood and sides, and upgraded tires and wheels.
The 1970s saw the introduction of new safety and emissions regulations which resulted in the power of the R/T's engine being reduced to just 300 hp (220 kW) in 1970. Despite this, the R/T remained popular among buyers and was produced until 1974.
